Nice rundown, Jenn. I wasn't as down on the early PH decisions, though it did seem like we burned a lot of players for little gain. Ethier made a great diving catch to rob Taguchi of a hit, so I don't blame him. He had some great postseasons with the Cards. Maybe they were on Charlie's mind. Like you, I was screaming at Charlie to leave JC in to face Ramirez. I think he would have had Loney been next instead of Martin. He didn't want JC pitching to both batters, which would give Martin a chance to hit a game-tying HR. Like you, I think he was resigned to the idea that Manny would get a hit in that spot. When Martin reached on the WP, I was going nuts. Now Loney, who'd already hit a long double, could hit a 3-run HR to give the Dodgers the lead. From that point Brad was indescribably brilliant--searing fastballs and sharp-breaking sliders. Apparently he needs a little drama to make it interesting for himself. I'm glad he didn't walk anyone in the ninth. That kept my blood pressure down.

Check out my game story. I featured Matt Stairs homer. I was ready for it after the count went to 3-1. I figured that 300 lb Broxton would steam a 98 mph fastball right down the middle and that Stairs, having taken one of those pitches already for strike one, would be ready.

Go Phils in Game Five! On to the World Series!

I thought more about Charlie bringing in Lidge when he did. He likes Brad to start innings. He knew he wasn't going to let JC pitch to Martin with a man on. He figured Manny would get a hit off JC, and he'd have to bring in Brad with a man on. He tried to allow Brad to get Manny with no one on, but Manny was too good. At this point, he can hit just about anyone.

One more win to the world series. My vote is for the "Flyin' Hawaiian" for NLCS MVP! And, if not Victorino, then Lidge, or depending on how Hamels goes on Wednesday.

It was a sub for Stairs to hit against Broxton. Stairs crushes fastballs!
