Everyone is quick to criticize Charlie Manuel. I have tried to be fair to him and generally like him. I understand he makes some bone headed decisions in game and in tonight's game I think he made one.
I know it is the playoffs and managing changes a bit, but why in the world would you take J.C. Romero out of the game to face Manny Ramirez with two outs and no one on base? What is the worst Manny could have done, hit a homerun? We would still have the lead. I know some will argue if you waited for him to get on base before making the move Brad Lidge has not been put in that role all year. But he certainly has throughout his career. Bottom line, Manuel should have stuck with Romero in the eight inning.
Anyone have other thoughts on this?
