So..about this whole Derek Lowe sitch..
I'm going to be honest-once we re-signed Papa Moyer, I kind of forgot that Derek Lowe was still on our radar. When I found out that the Phils were interested in DLowe, I wasn't that enthused over the idea. Sure, he's got the stats, but what about his anger issues? Remember when he was sucking and not striking any of our guys out and got so pissed that he proceeded to destroy a perfectly useful cooler? PLUS-How many sunflower seeds does this man put in his mouth at one time?! Watching those NLCS games was painful because of the constant spitting. Okay, okay, I knowww they're better for you than having a wad of Skoal against your gums but at least you can't SEE that when it's spit out. I don't know, maybe it's just me.
But now....with the news of The Mets going after Lowe, it's all about competition, right? Let's offer 3 years, 36 million and ONE PENNY. (Sorry, I kind of stole that from The Office). But, am I right? Why are The Mets deserving of a good pitcher? Maybe DLowe's short fuse would make him a better example of a Met than a Phillie but we have an excellent Anger Management program within the organization (it's called Serenity Now with Counselor, Brett Myers). Personally, I see Manny Ramirez and his attitude being a better fit for The Mets. But..maybe that's just me.
