The Super Bowl Champs head back to the stadium where they won it all back in February this Sunday at 4:15pm. The 9-1 Giants take on the 7-3 Cardinals with their old QB Kurt Warner...(old meaning he used to play for the Giants, relax Cardinal fans).
Seriously though, Warner is putting up monster numbers; 3155 passing yards, 20 TD's vs only 7 picks. In fact, were the season to end today, he would likely be the league MVP. This is not the doormat Arizona Cardinals all Giants fans know and love---they are good. They rank 3rd in the NFL in scoring (the Giants are #1) and are decent on defense as well. Especially against the run averaging only 89.8 yards per game against----and you know the Giants can't rush the ball against the better run defenses---oh wait....almost forgot what we did to the Ravens.
They boast two of the leagues most explosive receivers in Anquan Boldon and Larry Fitzgerald. They will put enormous pressure on the Giants secondary.
The Giants may have to play without the services of Brandon "the beast" Jacobs, but with their offensive line and Derrick Ward and Ahmed Bradshaw, the running game should be fine.
I have some concern every time the Giants fly out west, cross country trips are never a good thing for a football team. However, I feel this Giants team is on a mission right now and Tom Coughlin seems to have them intensely focused every week and up for the challenge. While I do expect a very tough game, I believe the Giants run their record to 10-1.
Giants 34-27.
By the way, I find it interesting that with the Giants Super Bowl victory in the dessert last February, they have more post season wins in Arizona then the Cardinals do---just thought I would pass that along.
Go Giants!
