Philadelphia Eagles Fan
I want to introduce myself. My name is Mark. I have been an Eagles fan as long as Philadelphia Eagles fans have been throwing snowballs at Santa Claus. I was at the game with my Dad. The Eagles were playing the Minnesota Vikings at Franklin Field. The Vikings were pounding the Eagles. That made the December 1968 day much colder. My Dad was doing everything he could to keep me warm. I must have drank a gallon of hot chocolate. I remember Santa Claus getting up at half-time. The crowd booed and and pelted him with snowballs. The Philadelphia Eagles fans are a tough crowd. We expect Santa Claus and the Eagles to deliver.
I have been waiting a long time since 1968 for a Super Bowl championship. We had several good runs. I still love Dick Vermeil for making Philly a winner again. Yes, I can't get enough of the movie, Invincible, starring Mark Wahlberg. I loved the Buddy Ryan defenses with Randall Cunningham doing a magic show with the offense.
The question now is will the Eagles deliver the Super Bowl to Philadelphia in 2008-2009 season. Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb have been the winningest combination in Philadelphia Eagles history. I like to believe Donovan when he says the window of winning a Super Bowl is still "stuck open".
That's the great thing about the pre-season. Hope is renewed. Everyone starts with a clean slate. Games are to be played. The Eagles will get their shot to win the big one.
Philadelphia Eagles training camp starts on July 21 with rookies and selected veterans reporting at Leigh University. The first practice is set for July 22 and the remainder of the team is due into camp on July 24.
I want to wish the team good luck and remember by December we will have the snowballs ready. We are expecting good things this year.
